ADDICT is an evening-length performance featuring original design, music, and poetry written by individuals in substance abuse recovery. The work dismantles harmful media stereotypes of addiction and replaces them with real voices and their stories. At its core, ADDICT reminds us that people living with addiction deserve respect and that every story of struggle is also a story of humanity.

The premiere of ADDICT was is in partnership with Helping Up Mission, a Baltimore nonprofit that provides resources to people experiencing homelessness, poverty, or addiction. After two sold-out nights, over $4,000 in ticket proceeds went to Helping Up Mission’s “Inspiring Hope” campaign, which was an expansion project to build a new center in Baltimore specifically for women and children affected by addiction.

“An excellent piece that opened my eyes and my heart to those affected by addiction.”
